Speaking on Aspire with Emma Grede on October 20, the 48-year-old stylist said he understood why Palmer decided to end their professional relationship.
“To me, that wasn’t personal. I love Keke to death. It was a business decision that she should’ve made,” Roach explained.

Rather than taking the decision personally, Roach said he respected Palmer’s honesty. He recalled accepting her explanation by responding, “Well, alright Keke Palmer.”
The stylist also praised Palmer for knowing what worked best for her. He made it clear that he did not hold any resentment over the decision.
“She knows exactly who she needs and what she wanted and I couldn’t deliver; and I’m not mad at that,” Roach said.

Although their creative differences led to the end of their professional partnership, Roach continues to express affection and respect for Palmer.
His comments highlight how even successful collaborations can come to an end when two people have different creative goals. For Roach, Palmer’s decision was a business choice rather than a personal conflict.
The stylist’s remarks also show his willingness to acknowledge when a particular working relationship is not the right fit, even when both people respect each other.
