Rashmika Mandanna Responds to Criticism of Her Hindi Accent
Rashmika Mandanna has responded to criticism of her Hindi accent, saying people should not expect her to lose the influence of her South Indian roots.
The actress discussed the issue during an episode of Koffee With Karan Season 9, where she appeared alongside her husband, Vijay Deverakonda.
For years, social media users have commented on Rashmika’s Hindi dialogue delivery. The debate resurfaced after her performances in films such as Thamma (2025) and Cocktail 2 (2026). She has also faced similar reactions to her work in Animal, Chhaava and Sikandar.
“I particularly didn’t have an issue with that because they said I had a South Indian accent, but I am from the South of India. So I am going to have an accent. It’s unreasonable to think otherwise,” the Pushpa actress said.
Rashmika Mandanna Explains Why She Dubs Her Own Films
Rashmika also discussed the effort involved in dubbing her own films across different languages. She explained that she gives directors the choice to hire another voice artist if they prefer.
“For every film that I’m part of, I give my directors the option. I tell them that I won’t feel bad if they want someone else to dub. But none of my directors wanted that,” she said.
The actress added that dubbing in different languages takes hard work. Therefore, she feels proud whenever she can deliver her own dialogue successfully.
“If I can do it, there is nothing like it,” Rashmika added.

Actress Opens Up About Online Trolling
Rashmika also spoke about facing criticism throughout her career. She said people have commented on everything from her acting and performances to her language and accent.
However, the actress explained that she never wanted criticism to limit her career choices. Instead, she wanted to explore different film industries and learn multiple languages.
“I didn’t want to work in just one industry. I wanted to work in them all. I didn’t want to speak just one language. I wanted to speak all languages,” she said.
Her comments reflect her desire to take on projects across different film industries rather than restrict herself to one language or audience.
Rashmika Mandanna Values Diverse Film Roles
The actress also explained why she chooses films with very different characters and stories. She pointed to Animal and The Girlfriend as examples of projects that allowed her to explore contrasting roles.
“When you say there is The Girlfriend and there is Animal, they are so different, but I’m part of both. I wanted it that way,” she said.
Rashmika was most recently seen in Homi Adajania’s Cocktail 2 and Ranabaali, alongside Vijay Deverakonda, according to the supplied report.
Her upcoming projects include the action-adventure film Mysaa and Atlee’s science-fiction fantasy Raaka. The latter is reportedly expected to enter production in 2027.
Through her comments, Rashmika has made it clear that she wants to keep challenging herself, exploring different roles and working across languages.
