“It was interesting,” Cryer said. “I had a lot of mixed feelings about being a part of that because obviously he’s a very complicated guy and we had a complicated relationship.”

Cryer admitted that his issues with Sheen intensified during the actor’s highly publicised struggles with addiction, but over time, he came to realise that much of his frustration was not directed at his former co-star.
He explained that he was more unsettled by the public fascination surrounding Sheen’s personal struggles and the entertainment value many seemed to derive from his downfall.
“Mostly I realized that I wasn’t mad at him anymore; I was still kind of mad at America,” Cryer shared.

He added, “I knew him as a friend, as a coworker, so it was really painful to see all that and see that craziness and see a lot of people enjoying it. So that’s part of why I kind of wanted to, obviously, say my side of the story.”
Cryer’s comments offer fresh insight into his relationship with Sheen while shedding light on the emotional impact of watching a close colleague navigate public turmoil.
