Laila, a well-known film and television actress who began her career at the age of 14, recently spoke out about her struggles in the Karachi entertainment industry.

The actress revealed that she was recently all set to debut in a television drama scripted by Khalil ur Rehman Qamar. However, just as she was preparing to leave for Karachi, she received a shocking call: producers had allegedly heard that she was “hard to work with,” and she was replaced.

Speaking further, Laila criticized the Karachi industry for being unwelcoming to artists, especially those from Punjab or older, established stars. She cited veteran actress Meera as an example, noting that despite her success with hits like Baji, Meera had to produce her own projects rather than being supported by the industry.

Laila also compared the Karachi and Lahore industries, claiming that Lahore has historically been more inclusive and open-minded toward talent. She emphasized that Karachi should be willing to embrace artists from across Pakistan, recognizing their skills and fan following instead of sidelining them.
