Nicki Minaj Linked to White House Press Secretary Role
Rapper Nicki Minaj has sparked a social media buzz after White House communications director Steven Cheung suggested she could become the next White House press secretary.
The discussion followed Minaj’s appearance at a rally supporting US President Donald Trump in Michigan on October 25. During the event, the rapper described herself as Trump’s “number one fan.”
White House Official Sparks Online Discussion
After the rally, Minaj shared a video from Air Force One. Cheung later reposted the clip and joked about her taking on a new role in the White House.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I think we may have found the new White House Press Secretary!” he wrote.
Trump adviser Alex Bruesewitz also joined the conversation, asking Minaj’s fan base, known as the Barbz, what they thought of the idea.
However, neither comment confirms an official appointment. The remarks appear to be playful social media speculation rather than a formal announcement.
Nicki Minaj Faces Backlash Over Trump Support
Minaj’s public support for Trump has also drawn criticism online. Some users questioned her political stance, while others brought up controversies involving her husband, Kenneth Petty, who is a registered sex offender.
The debate reflects the strong reactions that celebrities can face when they publicly support political figures.
No Official Appointment Announced
Despite the online discussion, there is no confirmed indication that Minaj will become White House press secretary. The position remains a formal government communications role, and social media comments alone do not signal a change.
For now, the suggestion has fueled debate about Minaj’s political views and her growing public association with Trump.
