A planned New York exhibition of Paul Klee’s “Angelus Novus” has been postponed. The artwork, on loan from Israel, will not travel to the Jewish Museum as scheduled.
The delay is a direct result of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The painting remains in Israel for security and logistical reasons.
“Angelus Novus” is a seminal 1920 watercolor and is infrequently displayed publicly. Its withdrawal represents a significant loss for the museum’s programming.
No new date for the exhibition has been announced.
