Kriti Sanon Warns About AI Image Misuse and Personal Rights
Kriti Sanon has raised concerns about the misuse of artificial intelligence (AI). The Bollywood actress wants stronger laws to protect people’s images and personal rights.
Speaking at the NDTV World Summit 2026, Kriti discussed the risks of AI-generated images. She also explained why social media platforms need better ways to report harmful content.
“AI scares me. I think it scares a lot of people. But I feel it is a tool, not a destination,” she said.
Kriti supports new technology. However, she believes laws must keep pace with its rapid growth.
Kriti Sanon Wants Stronger AI Laws
Kriti said technology can bring many benefits. Still, people need better protection as AI tools become more advanced.
“I am all for technology and innovation. But eventually, laws also have to evolve with technology,” she explained.
She also warned that AI-generated images can look very real. As a result, people may struggle to tell fake pictures from genuine photographs.
“There is a very thin line between what a real picture looks like and what an AI-created picture looks like,” she said.
Kriti believes clear laws could help protect people from the misuse of their images. They could also help people challenge content that harms their privacy or reputation.

Kriti Questions Instagram’s Reporting Options
The Do Patti actress also raised concerns about social media reporting systems. She said people need a clear way to report AI-generated images of themselves.
Kriti used Instagram as an example. She explained that she could not find a specific option to report an AI-generated image of herself for removal.
“Even on Instagram, to be honest, if I want to report something, there is no option that says, ‘This is an AI-generated image of me, and hence it should be reported and removed,’” she said.
Her comments highlight a key challenge. People may struggle to report fake images when platforms do not offer a clear reporting route for their concerns.
However, users should check the available reporting options on each platform, as these features can change.
AI Innovation Must Protect Personal Rights
AI tools offer new ways to create content. At the same time, people can misuse them to make false or misleading images of others.
Kriti’s comments add to the growing debate about online privacy and personal rights. She believes society must support innovation while also protecting people from harm.
As AI continues to develop, lawmakers and social media companies face growing pressure to improve safeguards. Clear rules and better reporting systems could help people protect their images and challenge harmful content.
