Prince William Recalls Awkward Taylor Swift Selfie Moment With Travis Kelce
Prince William has shared the funny story behind his viral selfie with Taylor Swift, revealing that he once tried to move Travis Kelce out of the picture.
During his appearance on The Graham Norton Show on Friday, October 23, the Prince of Wales looked back at his meeting with the pop star at her Eras Tour concert in London in 2024.
William attended the Wembley Stadium concert with his children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. After the show, they took a selfie with Swift. However, Travis Kelce also wanted to join the picture, leaving William confused at the time.

William admitted that he had not realised how much attention the selfie would receive until recently.
“I wasn’t until recently. I hadn’t appreciated the significance, and actually – I was trying to move him out of the photo!” he told Graham Norton.
The prince then explained that Kelce kept returning to the frame while he tried to arrange the picture.
“Travis kept coming back in, and I couldn’t work out why he kept coming back in! I was trying to move him out so it was just me and Taylor and the children!” William added.
His comments reportedly made the audience laugh, offering a light-hearted look at the moment behind the widely shared photograph.
Prince William Remembers Meeting Taylor Swift in 2013
William’s connection with Swift goes back further than their 2024 meeting. The two first met in 2013 at a Centrepoint charity gala held at Kensington Palace.
During the event, Swift surprised William by inviting him on stage to perform Bon Jovi’s Livin’ on a Prayer.
Looking back on the experience, William admitted that he still felt embarrassed about agreeing to sing in front of the audience.
“To this day, I still do not know what came over me,” he said, recalling how the singer persuaded him to join her.
He also joked that when Swift looked him in the eye, touched his arm and asked him to come with her, he simply followed along.
His recollection showed that even a future king can find himself caught off guard by an unexpected celebrity moment.
