The Devil Wears Prada 2 has officially become a global box office hit, surpassing the lifetime earnings of the original 2006 film and cementing its place as one of the biggest entertainment successes of the year.
The sequel has earned an estimated $324 million worldwide so far, according to industry reports. The total includes $101.8 million from North America and an impressive $222.2 million from international markets. Analysts expect the franchise’s combined earnings to cross the $700 million mark within the coming days.
Directed once again by David Frankel, the film reunites original cast members Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci. Their return has fueled strong audience nostalgia while attracting a new generation of viewers.
Internationally, the movie continues to dominate cinemas across Europe and Latin America. Italy has emerged as the film’s strongest overseas market with $22.2 million in ticket sales, closely followed by the United Kingdom at $21.6 million.

Industry analysts say the film’s Milan setting helped drive exceptional interest in Italy, where audiences responded positively to the fashion-focused storyline and glamorous European backdrop. The strong turnout also reflects the continued recovery of cinema attendance in several international markets after years of slower post-pandemic growth.
In North America, the sequel is currently competing closely with Mortal Kombat II in a tight box office race. Both films are projected to earn between $40 million and $42 million during their second weekend.
