Nick Jonas Reveals Why Jonas Brothers Revived ‘Burning Up’ Era

Nick Jonas has revealed why the Jonas Brothers decided to bring back their iconic Burning Up era.

Speaking to People, Nick said the brothers naturally returned to the sound of their early albums while making new music.

The group felt especially connected to their self-titled album and A Little Bit Longer. Nick said their songwriting had come full circle.

The brothers have changed as artists over the years. However, Nick believes their early musical roots are still part of who they are.

Speaking to People, Nick explained that the brothers found themselves returning to the musical style that defined their early career while working on their latest songs.

According to the singer, the group was particularly drawn to the sound of their self-titled album and A Little Bit Longer. Although the brothers have evolved musically over the years, Nick said their songwriting still carries the same fundamental DNA.

The new material eventually brought them back toward the pop-punk and emo influences of their early work. However, the brothers wanted to present that sound in a fresh way rather than simply recreate the past.

That idea also inspired them to revisit the Burning Up Tour. Nick said the concept was to bring back the spirit of the original show while evolving it into a new experience for today’s fans.

The group has also updated its fashion for the tour. Stylist Sydney Lopez helped create looks that reference the brothers’ earlier style without turning them into exact costumes.

Nick admitted that revisiting their old outfits brought plenty of laughs, with some fashion choices leaving him wondering why he ever wore them. Still, he said looking back is part of growing as an artist and discovering who you are.

The Jonas Brothers are now preparing to take the revamped show across the country. The nationwide Burning Up Tour is scheduled to begin on September 25, 2026.

For Nick and his brothers, the revival offers a chance to celebrate their musical roots while giving longtime fans something new to experience.
