Thieves stole three valuable paintings from an Italian museum in a swift overnight operation. The artworks by Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Paul Cézanne and Henri Matisse were taken from the Magnani-Rocca Foundation near Parma.
Police said the heist took just three minutes. The stolen pieces are estimated to be worth millions of euros.
Officials reported that the thieves broke a window to enter the villa-turned-museum. The alarm sounded, but the perpetrators had already fled with the paintings by the time authorities arrived.
The foundation is home to a significant private collection of modern art. An investigation into the theft is ongoing.
