The singer, whose real name is Melanie Chisholm, shared the story during an appearance on The Louis Theroux Podcast, revealing that the incident happened in 1996 at the BRIT Awards, just months before the release of the group’s breakthrough hit Wannabe.
Mel C described the night as a memorable experience for the young band. The group celebrated their success, enjoyed champagne, and even shared a table with legendary musician Lenny Kravitz.
