Brooke Shields is calling attention to workplace concerns raised by performers at Casa Bonita, saying employee safety and fair treatment should remain a top priority.
Brooke Shields has voiced support for performers involved in an ongoing labor dispute at Casa Bonita, urging greater focus on employee welfare and workplace safety.
Shields, who serves as president of the Actors’ Equity Association, represents performers working at the popular Colorado restaurant, which combines dining with live entertainment, including cliff-diving performances.
Speaking about the dispute, Shields said she was concerned after learning about issues raised during contract negotiations. According to the union, performers have sought improvements related to wages, workplace safety, and on-the-job conditions.
Among the concerns cited by union representatives are alleged risks associated with the diving pool, including exposure to cold temperatures and chlorine, as well as reports of inappropriate behavior by some customers.
Shields said visiting the venue reinforced her belief that the performers deserve stronger protections. She praised their commitment and talent while arguing they should be supported with safe working conditions and fair compensation.
The union has stated that negotiations have resulted in some progress but believes more work is needed before an agreement can be reached.
In response, Casa Bonita said it values the well-being of all employees but declined to comment further because labor negotiations are ongoing.
The dispute highlights broader conversations surrounding workplace safety and compensation in the live entertainment industry. As discussions continue, both sides are expected to keep negotiating in hopes of reaching an agreement that addresses employee concerns while supporting the restaurant’s unique performances.
