Pop superstar Ariana Grande has publicly criticized the White House after her song Bye was featured in a social media video highlighting immigration enforcement actions carried out by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The controversy began when the White House’s official TikTok account posted a video showing ICE agents detaining immigrants. The clip was accompanied by Grande’s 2024 track Bye and carried a caption praising border security efforts under President Donald Trump.

The post quickly attracted attention online, with many users debating the use of a pop song in a politically charged message. Grande herself responded directly in the comments section.

The singer strongly objected to the use of her music, writing that she did not want her work associated with what she described as “barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense.” She also expressed her opposition to ICE in the comment.

Although the comment later became unavailable, reports indicate that Grande’s team reviewed options to remove the song from the video. Shortly afterward, users noticed that the audio had been removed from the TikTok post, which now displays a message indicating the sound is no longer available.

The spokesperson Jackson referenced Grande’s hit song One Last Time while delivering the administration’s response, adding another layer to the public exchange.

The latest clash highlights the growing tension between public figures and government institutions over the use of music, branding, and celebrity influence in political messaging.

As discussions continue online, the incident has reignited broader conversations about artistic consent, political expression, and the role of celebrities in public policy debates.

The removal of Grande’s song may have ended its appearance in the video, but the debate surrounding immigration policy and the use of popular culture in political communication shows no signs of fading anytime soon.
