Shia LaBeouf has opened up about some uncomfortable moments from his early acting career, recalling difficult experiences involving his father while working on major Hollywood projects.
The 40-year-old actor discussed the memories during a “Transformers” reunion panel at Fanboy Expo in Knoxville, Tennessee, where he reflected on his time filming “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle” in 2003.
Instead of focusing only on the movie’s action scenes and famous cast members, LaBeouf said his strongest memories came from dealing with his father’s behavior on set.
The actor recalled that his father, Jeffrey Craig LaBeouf, had recently returned from prison at the time and was around the sets where LaBeouf worked with stars including Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu and Drew Barrymore.
LaBeouf claimed his father frequently flirted with the actresses, creating uncomfortable situations during filming. He also said Lucy Liu tried to keep her distance because she did not want to interact with him.
The actor shared that similar incidents happened during the filming of Disney’s 2003 adventure movie “Holes,” another project from his early career.
According to LaBeouf, his father’s behavior caused problems on multiple sets, and he recalled an alleged confrontation involving actress Sigourney Weaver during production.
LaBeouf was still a teenager when he worked on both films, which helped establish him as a rising Hollywood star before he became widely known for leading roles in the “Transformers” franchise.
