Shahid Kapoor’s Film Choices Spark Debate After ‘Cocktail 2’

Shahid Kapoor’s career choices have become a topic of debate among fans after his recent projects failed to create the same impact as some of his earlier performances.

The actor, known for delivering memorable performances in films like Chup Chup Ke, Kaminey, Haider and Kabir Singh, has faced criticism over the selection of his recent roles.

Shahid appeared in Vishal Bhardwaj’s O’ Romeo, where he portrayed a dark and intense character. Later, he took on another bold role in Cocktail 2 alongside Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna.

While Shahid’s willingness to experiment has been appreciated by some viewers, many believe that his recent characters have not matched his strengths as an actor.

Social media users have expressed that Shahid shines the most when he chooses unique scripts and emotionally challenging roles rather than projects focused mainly on commercial appeal.

Fans pointed to movies like Udta Punjab, Haider and Kaminey as examples of the kind of cinema where Shahid’s acting talent received widespread praise.

The discussion also gained attention after Kabir Singh director Sandeep Reddy Vanga advised Shahid to avoid remakes and focus on original stories.

Vanga previously said that an actor like Shahid Kapoor should explore original characters because of his ability to bring fresh energy to complex roles.

Meanwhile, Shahid’s performance in the Prime Video crime thriller series Farzi continues to receive appreciation from audiences. The show, featuring Raashii Khanna, Vijay Sethupathi, Kay Kay Menon, Bhuwan Arora and Kavya Thapar, became one of the most talked-about Indian streaming series.

The second season of Farzi is currently in production and is expected to arrive on Prime Video in 2027.Bill Maher Says Ben Affleck Still Avoids His Show After Heated Debate
