The 2026 BAFTA Television Awards saw a poignant blend of celebration and remembrance as Seth Rogen took the stage to accept honors for the hit Apple TV+ series, The Studio. While the evening celebrated the best in television, Rogen ensured the spotlight stayed on his late co-star, the legendary Catherine O’Hara, who passed away on January 30.

Dedication was the theme of the night as Rogen, a co-creator and star of the critically acclaimed comedy-drama, addressed the London audience. “It would be remiss of me not to mention Catherine O’Hara,” Rogen said, his voice reflecting the weight of the loss. “She meant so much to all of us; I assume she meant the same to you here.”

    Honoring Patty Leigh

O’Hara’s portrayal of Patty Leigh in The Studio has been hailed as a masterclass in comedic timing and emotional depth. Her work has resonated deeply within the industry, earning her a posthumous acting honor at the Actors Awards earlier this year. Rogen, who has stepped in to accept these honors on her behalf, reflected on her immense presence on set.

“I know she would have been honored to receive this award from her fellow performers,” Rogen previously noted during the Actors Awards. At the BAFTAs, he further praised her professional generosity, stating that she never “minimized her own ability to contribute to the work,” despite her veteran status.

    The Impact of The Studio

Since its debut, The Studio has become one of Apple TV+’s most successful ventures, blending Hollywood satire with genuine heart. O’Hara’s performance is widely considered the soul of the show, making the BAFTA win a bittersweet milestone for the cast and crew.

As the series continues to gain momentum, Rogen admitted he has been thinking deeply about their time together. His tribute at the BAFTAs served as a reminder that while the show continues to win accolades, the absence of O’Hara’s wit and warmth is felt by everyone in the “Studio” family.
