Ranbir Kapoor has defended the visual effects of the upcoming film Ramayana after online discussions about its CGI quality.
The actor said many people judge computer-generated imagery without understanding the amount of effort required to create realistic visuals for a large-scale production.

Ranbir explained that VFX artists spend years developing detailed scenes, and the process involves much more than simply using artificial intelligence tools.
He said the growing interest in visual effects has also created a new group of online critics who closely analyze CGI work without knowing the technical challenges behind it.
The actor highlighted the efforts of director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra, who have worked closely with the VFX team to create the film’s visual world.

Reports suggest that some major sequences of Ramayana required several years of work, with the team continuing to refine details such as colors, effects and overall presentation.
Namit Malhotra also addressed the criticism and encouraged audiences to experience the film on the big screen. He said theatrical viewing provides a different impact compared with watching visuals on smaller screens or through low-quality streams.
The producer emphasized that the team invested significant time and resources to create a cinematic experience for audiences.
Ramayana is set to release in theatres on November 8, 2026. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and aims to deliver a grand visual interpretation of the Indian epic.
