Ella Langley Breaks Mariah Carey’s Longstanding Chart Record
Country singer Ella Langley has achieved a major milestone with her hit single Choosin’ Texas, breaking a long-running US chart record previously held by Mariah Carey.
The song has now become the longest-running No. 1 single in US chart history, surpassing the record set by Carey’s holiday classic All I Want for Christmas Is You.
Carey’s festive hit had previously spent 23 weeks at the top of the chart.
‘Choosin’ Texas’ reaches historic milestone
Langley released Choosin’ Texas in October 2025. The song initially took time to build momentum before entering the US Top 10 in January.
It eventually reached No. 1 on the US Billboard chart for the first time in February.
Its continued run at the top has now pushed the country track past Carey’s 23-week record.
Ella Langley reacts to chart achievement
Langley celebrated the milestone with a video posted on Instagram.
The singer admitted that she was struggling to process the significance of the achievement.
She thanked listeners for supporting the song and helping it reach such a historic position.
Langley also said the accomplishment had not fully sunk in yet, highlighting how unexpected the milestone felt to her.

Who wrote ‘Choosin’ Texas’?
The hit track was co-written by Langley alongside Luke Dick, Miranda Lambert and Joybeth Taylor.
The song’s success has helped establish Langley as a major name in country music while giving her a historic place in the US charts.
Mariah Carey’s previous record
Before Langley’s achievement, All I Want for Christmas Is You held the record for the longest run at No. 1, with 23 weeks at the top.
The holiday favorite has remained one of Carey’s most successful songs and a major part of the Christmas music season.
Langley’s Choosin’ Texas has now moved beyond that benchmark, giving the country singer a landmark chart achievement.
With the record officially surpassed, Choosin’ Texas has cemented its place in US chart history and marked one of the biggest milestones of Langley’s career so far.
