Courteney Cox has praised her daughter Coco Arquette’s acting skills after directing her in the crime thriller Evil Genius. The Friends star recently discussed their experience working together and explained why she did not feel the need to take on a protective role as Coco’s mother.

Courteney Cox Says Coco Arquette ‘Holds Her Own’
During an interview with E! News, Cox joked that she was not acting like a “mama bear” while directing her 22-year-old daughter.
“I would say not mama bear,” Cox said. “I would be more like, ‘Get it together!’ No, I’m just kidding.”
The actress and director explained that Coco was confident enough to manage herself on set. Cox said she did not need to be overly protective because her daughter knew how to handle the demands of the production.
“She holds her own,” Cox shared. “I don’t need to be protective of her.”
Coco Arquette Earns Praise From the Cast and Crew
Cox also revealed that Coco quickly made a positive impression on everyone involved in Evil Genius. She said the cast and crew welcomed her and appreciated her presence on set.
“Of course, I loved having Coco on set. Everybody loved her,” Cox explained.
The director also praised her daughter’s personality and acting ability, describing her as “a little force” and “an incredible actor.”
Coco is Cox’s daughter with her former husband, actor David Arquette.
Courteney Cox’s Extended Acting Family Appears in Evil Genius
Coco is not the only member of Cox’s extended family connected to the film. Evil Genius focuses on the infamous 2003 “pizza bomber” case and features several familiar names from the Arquette and Cox families.
Patricia Arquette, who was previously married to David Arquette, appears in the film alongside David Harbour. Cox’s niece, Harlow Jane, also has a supporting role.
The family connections have added another personal element to Cox’s latest filmmaking project.
