“She Did Amazing” Cardi B and Kandi Burruss Cheer on Megan Thee Stallion’s Final ‘Moulin Rouge!’ Performance

The Broadway stage witnessed a high-profile “Hottie” takeover this weekend as Cardi B and Kandi Burruss led a star-studded crowd to witness Megan Thee Stallion’s final bow in Moulin Rouge! The Musical. On May 1, 2026, the Al Hirschfeld Theatre was the site of an emotional farewell as Megan wrapped up her historic run as the production’s first-ever female Harold Zidler.

The Broadway Debut That Made History

Megan Thee Stallion took a bold creative leap when she joined the cast on March 24, 2026, stepping into the role of the flamboyant showman Zidler. While she was originally scheduled to perform through May 17, Megan announced an early exit, officially closing her chapter with the show on the first of May.

The “WAP” collaborator Cardi B proved their friendship is as strong as ever by making a striking appearance at the final Friday night show. Despite arriving late due to New York City traffic, Cardi shared her excitement on Instagram Live, stating she made it for the final 40 minutes and was blown away by the storyline and Megan’s performance. “I don’t know if she ever gonna do it again, but I thought she was gonna do it longer,” Cardi told her followers.

A Night of Family and Friendship

The audience also featured Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Kandi Burruss, who attended with her daughter, Riley Burruss. Kandi took to social media to praise the performance and thank both Megan and Cardi for their continued kindness toward her daughter, noting that the rap icons always “make her day” whenever they cross paths.

    Personal Turmoil Amid Professional Success

The bittersweet nature of the evening was heightened by recent revelations in Megan’s personal life. Her final curtain call followed a public confirmation of her split from NBA star Klay Thompson. After soft-launching their romance in the summer of 2025 and making their red carpet debut in July of that year, Megan released a candid statement accusing Thompson of infidelity, signaling a definitive end to their relationship.

What’s Next for the “Savage” Star?

In her farewell message to the “Hotties,” Megan described her time at the Moulin Rouge as an “honor” and an “incredible journey.” While her next project remains unannounced, her successful run as the first female Zidler has sparked rumors of a future in musical theater or a potential return to the studio for a new album inspired by her time on the Broadway stage.
