‘Gossip Girl’ Icon Ed Westwick Opens Up About the “Mind-Blowing” Reality of Fatherhood
Ed Westwick, the actor who captivated audiences as the legendary Chuck Bass, is embracing a role far removed from the glitz of the Upper East Side: devoted father. In a candid new interview, Westwick shared the profound impact his son, Oscar, has had on his life since his arrival in early 2025.
Westwick and his wife, actress Amy Jackson, welcomed their first child together in March 2025, less than a year after their star-studded wedding in 2024.
A “Surreal” Life Shift
Speaking with Principle magazine, the 38-year-old actor didn’t hold back on the emotional weight of becoming a parent. He described the transition as an “absolutely surreal, mind-blowing experience” that has fundamentally altered his perspective on personal growth.
Learning Patience Through the Noise
While Westwick is used to the high-pressure environments of film sets, he admitted that a crying infant requires a completely different set of skills. He highlighted three key areas of personal evolution:
Patience: Learning to stay calm when things get difficult.
Compassion: Seeing the world through his son’s eyes.
Managing Frustration: Navigating the “testing situations” that come with a newborn.
“In other situations in life, you can tell someone to get lost, you can walk away, you can stop,” Westwick explained. “And when it’s your baby, you can’t, and you don’t want to, even though you want the screaming or whatever it is to stop.”

The couple continues to be a favorite among fans of both Hollywood and Bollywood, balancing their international careers with the newfound joys of raising Oscar.
