Broadway Star Josh Grisetti Dies at 44

Broadway actor Josh Grisetti, best known for his performances in “Something Rotten!” and “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” has died at the age of 44.

According to reports, Grisetti died on Friday, July 10. His passing was confirmed by fellow Broadway performer Rob McClure, who shared an emotional tribute on social media.

“It is with a shattered heart that I share that the brilliant Josh Grisetti took his own life,” McClure wrote, adding that he was struggling to understand the loss and offering support to Grisetti’s wife and family.


The actor described Grisetti’s death as a devastating loss, saying his absence would be deeply felt by theater communities around the world.

McClure and Grisetti previously worked together in the Broadway production of “Something Rotten!”, where Grisetti gained widespread recognition for his role as Nigel Bottom.

Following the announcement, several members of the Broadway community shared condolences, including Rachel Zegler, Caissie Levy, Erika Henningsen, Donna Murphy and Drew Gehling.

Born in Washington in 1981, Grisetti built a successful career in theater, appearing in multiple Broadway productions and earning praise for his stage performances.


Besides “Something Rotten!”, he was known for roles in productions such as “It Shoulda Been You” and for his appearance in the acclaimed television series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.”
