Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor Pledge to Refurbish 20 Mumbai Schools
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor have pledged to refurbish 20 schools in Mumbai as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.
The couple made the announcement on Thursday while marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday. The schools will be selected based on recommendations from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Alia Bhatt Announces the Initiative
Alia shared her birthday wishes for Prime Minister Narendra Modi on social media.
The actress then revealed that she and Ranbir would support the school refurbishment initiative.
According to Alia, the project aims to create better-equipped learning environments for children across Mumbai.
The couple will identify the schools in line with recommendations from the BMC.
Seva Sankalp Abhiyan Begins
The initiative is connected to the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, which began on September 17 and will continue for one month.
The campaign marks Prime Minister Modi’s 25 years in public life. It includes several activities focused on public service and community participation.
These activities include blood donation camps, cleanliness drives and plantation programmes.
Alia and Ranbir’s school refurbishment pledge adds an education-focused element to the campaign.
Bollywood Stars Extend Birthday Wishes
Several Bollywood celebrities also shared messages for Prime Minister Modi on his birthday.
Salman Khan addressed him as “PM Sahab” in a post on X and ended his message with “Jai Hind.”
Shah Rukh Khan wished the Prime Minister good health and continued strength.
Akshay Kumar also shared a Hindi message encouraging people to mark the occasion through acts of service.
Mohanlal, Ranveer Singh, Kangana Ranaut and Jackie Shroff were among other celebrities who extended their birthday wishes.
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s Upcoming Projects
Alia Bhatt was most recently seen in Alpha, where she starred alongside Sharvari.
She is also set to appear with Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love And War. The film is scheduled for release in 2027.
Meanwhile, Alia is awaiting the release of her production Don’t Be Shy on Prime Video.
