BTS maintains its position at the top of the Billboard 200 chart. The group’s latest album, “Arirang,” secures the number one spot for a second consecutive week. It earned 187,000 equivalent album units in its latest tracking period.

This figure represents a 71 percent decline from its powerful debut. “Arirang” had opened the previous week with 641,000 units. That debut marked the seventh career number-one album for the globally popular K-pop act.

The release held off a high-profile challenge from Ye, the artist formerly known as Kanye West. His new album, “Bully,” enters the chart at number two. The project achieved the second-place position with 165,000 equivalent album units.

The Billboard 200 ranks the most popular albums in the United States. It uses a methodology that blends traditional album sales with streaming activity. This system calculates a total of “equivalent album units.”

BTS’s continued dominance highlights the enduring commercial power of K-pop. The genre maintains a massive and dedicated international fanbase. This support consistently translates into strong chart performances.

Meanwhile, Ye’s latest release demonstrates his continued relevance in the music industry. Despite recent controversies, his new work attracted significant attention. The album’s debut shows his core audience remains engaged.

The chart battle underscores a dynamic period in popular music. Established global superstars and iconic domestic artists are competing directly. This creates a highly visible narrative for industry observers and fans alike.
