Anne Hathaway Skips Hot Ones Challenge for Verity Press Tour
Anne Hathaway has revealed why she will not take on the Hot Ones challenge while promoting her upcoming thriller Verity.
The Academy Award-winning actress has started the promotional campaign for the film, which also stars Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett.
However, fans hoping to see Hathaway face Sean Evans’ famous spicy-wing challenge will have to wait.
Anne Hathaway Won’t Do Hot Ones for Verity
During a recent interview, Hathaway was asked about the fictional Hot Ones-style segment featured in Verity.
The actress explained that she did not complete the full challenge while filming the movie.
Only two or three of the wings were real. The remaining wings were dummy props used for the scene.
Hathaway had previously hoped to take on the real challenge during the film’s press tour.
Why Is Anne Hathaway Skipping Hot Ones?
Hathaway revealed that her pregnancy has changed those plans.
During her appearance on the Talk of the Townsends podcast, she explained that her doctor advised her not to participate in the spicy-wing challenge.
“My doctor said I couldn’t do it because I might go into early labour,” Hathaway said.
As a result, the actress has decided to avoid the challenge for now.
Hathaway May Try Hot Ones Next Year
Although Hathaway is skipping Hot Ones during the Verity press tour, she has not ruled out doing the challenge in the future.
The actress said she still has not completed the famous gauntlet and suggested that she could potentially try it next year.
“I still haven’t done the gauntlet yet. I’m not sure when that’s going to happen. Maybe next year,” she said.
What Is Verity About?
Verity is a mystery thriller based on Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel.
The film follows Lowen Ashleigh, played by Dakota Johnson, a struggling writer who is hired to complete the unfinished work of famous author Verity Crawford, played by Anne Hathaway.
Josh Hartnett also stars in the movie.
Directed by Michael Showalter, Verity is scheduled to arrive in theaters on October 2.
While Hathaway may be skipping the fiery Hot Ones challenge this time, fans can still look forward to seeing her take on the mysterious role of Verity Crawford on the big screen.
