Ryan Murphy Confirms Glee Revival Script Is Complete
A Glee revival could be getting closer to reality after creator Ryan Murphy revealed that he has completed a new script for the beloved musical comedy series.
Murphy shared the update during the September 23 premiere of American Horror Story Season 13, confirming that he recently finished writing the script alongside longtime collaborators Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan.
Ryan Murphy Has Finished the Glee Revival Script
Ryan Murphy revealed that the new Glee script was completed just hours before the premiere event.
“We have a script,” Murphy said, confirming that he, Falchuk and Brennan had written the new material together.
The trio previously worked together on the first two seasons of the original series, making their involvement particularly notable for fans hoping to see the show return.
Original Glee Cast Members Have Been Contacted
Murphy also revealed that he has already spoken with several members of the original Glee cast.
According to the creator, he has been in contact with around 10 original cast members. He said they had plenty of questions but were enthusiastic about the possibility of returning.
However, Murphy clarified that none of the actors has read the new script yet.
He explained that he wanted to write a few episodes first and then see what the cast thinks, especially because of the close relationship they shared while making the original series.

Who Starred in the Original Glee?
Glee featured a large ensemble cast that included Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch, Kevin McHale, Amber Riley and Darren Criss.
The series also starred Cory Monteith and Naya Rivera, both of whom later died, in 2013 and 2020 respectively.
The original cast became closely associated with the show’s success as the musical comedy developed a major following during its six-season run.
Glee Originally Premiered in 2009
Glee debuted on Fox in 2009 and quickly became known for its musical performances, comedy and ensemble-driven storylines.
The series continued for six seasons before ending in 2015.
Now, more than a decade after the original show’s conclusion, Murphy’s new script and conversations with former cast members have sparked fresh interest in the possibility of a revival.
At this stage, however, the project remains in development, and further details about its cast, episodes and potential release have yet to be confirmed.
