Keke Palmer has opened up about the fear and helplessness she experienced when her son, Leodis, became sick for the first time.
The actress, who shares her three-year-old son with former boyfriend Darius Jackson, recalled the emotional experience in a recent interview with People.

Palmer said she was “horrified” when her son first became ill, explaining that the feeling can return quickly when a parent remembers their child being vulnerable.
She also reflected on the responsibility of parenthood, saying it can feel overwhelming to realize that you are the person making major decisions for someone you love so deeply.
Palmer credited her parents for supporting her as a mother. She said they share their experiences while also encouraging her to make informed decisions on her own.

Palmer also explained why she chose Beyfortus during her son’s first RSV season. She said she wanted to help protect him from serious lung infections caused by RSV.
The actress is also set to lend her voice to the animated film The Angry Birds Movie 3, which is scheduled for release on December 23, 2026.
