Vincent Pastore Funeral Details Announced After Actor’s Death at 80
The Sopranos actor Vincent Pastore’s funeral arrangements have been revealed as friends, fans, and former co-stars mourn the loss of the veteran performer.
Pastore, best known for playing Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero in HBO’s iconic crime drama The Sopranos, will be buried in New Rochelle, New York, later this week.
The funeral details were shared by Vincent Pastore’s longtime friend Stephen Villano, who confirmed the arrangements on Sunday, August 2.
The actor was found dead at his Bronx apartment on Saturday. He was 80 years old.
Pastore’s manager Robert Altman confirmed his passing in a statement, remembering him as a warm and respectful person who always valued his connection with fans.
“He treated everyone with warmth and respect,” Altman said, adding that Pastore never refused requests for photographs or autographs and always made supporters feel appreciated.
Born in 1946 into an Italian-American family, Vincent Pastore built a successful career in film and television. He gained worldwide recognition through his role as Big Pussy in The Sopranos, one of HBO’s most celebrated series.
Beyond television, Pastore appeared in several notable films, including Goodfellas, Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie, and Gotti.
Following news of his death, many colleagues paid tribute to the actor. His Sopranos co-star Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who played Meadow Soprano in the series, shared a heartfelt message on Instagram.
“A wonderful actor, a kind and loving man,” Sigler wrote while posting a black-and-white photo of Pastore.
