Vin Diesel Amazed as Fast & Furious Returns to Theatres
Vin Diesel has shared his excitement and disbelief as the original Fast & Furious movie prepares for a special theatrical re-release decades after its debut.
The actor took to Instagram to share a throwback image of himself as Dominic Toretto from the first film in the popular action franchise. Reflecting on the milestone, Diesel said it feels unreal to see the movie return to cinemas 25 years after its original release.
The Hollywood star explained that if someone had predicted back then that the first Fast & Furious film would become a global classic and receive another theatrical run years later, he would not have believed them.
Diesel wrote that the film’s continued popularity and worldwide return are beyond anything he could have imagined when the franchise began.
The original The Fast and the Furious is scheduled to return to theatres in the United States on August 21, followed by international releases including Australia on August 27.
The re-release celebrates the legacy of a franchise that grew from a street racing story into one of Hollywood’s biggest action series, known for its high-speed stunts, family theme, and global fan base.
Meanwhile, Vin Diesel is preparing for the final chapter of the franchise, titled Fast Forever. The upcoming film will bring back several familiar faces, including Jason Momoa, Ludacris, Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, and Sung Kang.
Directed by Louis Leterrier, Fast Forever is expected to continue the franchise’s action-packed legacy and is currently scheduled for a global release on March 17, 2028.
The return of the original movie highlights the lasting impact of the Fast Saga and the strong connection it has built with audiences around the world.
