Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker opens up about his past temper issues and says he wants his children to learn from his mistakes while handling fame and public attention.
Travis Barker has shared a personal message for his children, revealing the one trait from his past that he hopes they never adopt.
The Blink-182 drummer admitted that he regrets some of his earlier reactions, especially his confrontational behaviour when dealing with paparazzi and public pressure.
In an interview with The New York Times, the 50-year-old musician said he now wants to set a better example for his children, including son Landon Barker and daughter Alabama Barker, who are also connected to the entertainment industry.
“I lead by example,” Travis said, reflecting on his past actions. He admitted that he previously allowed anger to control his reactions in stressful situations.
The drummer explained that he once had a quick temper when photographers followed him or when he felt provoked. However, he now believes ignoring negativity is a healthier way to deal with unwanted attention.
Travis said he hopes his children understand that public criticism and online noise are part of life in the spotlight, but reacting emotionally is not the solution.
The Blink-182 star shares Landon, 22, Alabama, 20, and stepdaughter Atiana De La Hoya with his former wife Shanna Moakler. He is also father to two-year-old Rocky with his wife Kourtney Kardashian, whom he married in 2022.
Barker’s comments highlight his personal growth and his desire to guide the next generation through the challenges of fame, social media pressure, and public scrutiny.
The musician believes that learning from past mistakes is an important part of becoming a better parent and role model.
