Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee has revealed a surprising chapter from his past, sharing that financial struggles pushed him into escort work before he became one of rock music’s biggest names.
The 63-year-old musician discussed the experience during an appearance on the Armchair Expert podcast, explaining that the decision came during the early days of his career when money was extremely limited.
Lee said he was living with fellow Mötley Crüe members Nikki Sixx and Vince Neil when they met a woman who managed an escort service. She offered them an opportunity to earn extra cash while they were trying to build their music careers.
According to Lee, the band members were struggling financially and receiving only a small amount of money from their manager at the time. Looking for ways to survive, they decided to accept the unusual opportunity.
The drummer explained that he went on around nine or ten dates through the service. He said some experiences were simply about providing companionship, including attending dinners with clients who wanted someone to talk to.
Lee recalled that some of the women he met were older but enjoyable company, describing those moments as positive experiences during a challenging period of his life.
