Tom Cruise Reveals Why He Prefers Face-to-Face Conversations

Tom Cruise has opened up about how he prefers to communicate while working in Hollywood.

During an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the Mission: Impossible star explained why he prefers talking to people in person rather than relying on emails and messages.

Cruise said he has asked people working on productions not to simply send him emails when they need to discuss important matters.

Instead, he wants them to sit down with him and have a direct conversation.

Tom Cruise Does Not Want Production Emails

Cruise made it clear that he does not want technology to create distance between him and the people he works with.

The actor said production teams should avoid sending him emails about matters that can be discussed in person.

“Don’t send me emails, we’re going to sit down, we’re going to communicate. I like face-to-face,” Cruise said.

For the Hollywood star, direct communication is an important part of his creative process.

Tom Cruise Wants to Stay Connected With People

Cruise also explained why human interaction matters so much to him.

“I want to be with the people,” he said.

The actor described being able to walk into a room and see people smile as a “beautiful thing.” He said he enjoys creating and working across different forms of entertainment, including movies and music.

According to Cruise, face-to-face interactions allow him to connect with people on a more personal level.

“So it really opens those doors to humanity in a way, and I like being in there,” he explained.

Cruise Calls It a Privilege and Responsibility

Cruise also rejected the idea of being isolated from the people around him.

“Don’t lock me in a room. I want to be with the people,” he said.

The actor added that he views the opportunity to work with people and create entertainment as both a privilege and a responsibility.

His comments highlight Cruise’s preference for personal interaction, even as email, messaging and other digital tools have become standard parts of modern film production.
