Taylor Swift’s ‘Babylon’ Sparks Theories About Joe Alwyn and Tom Hiddleston
Taylor Swift’s new song “Babylon” has sparked fresh speculation among fans, with Swifties searching the lyrics for possible connections to the singer’s past relationships.
Since the track was released, several names have emerged in online theories, including Swift’s former partners Joe Alwyn and Tom Hiddleston.
Some fans have also suggested possible links to Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas, largely because of Swift’s friendship with Turner.
‘Babylon’ Sparks Fan Theories
“Babylon” is part of The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, which features four new songs.
The additional tracks include “Patient Zero,” “Cleveland!” and “Pink Clouding.”
Fans have been closely examining “Babylon” for references to leaving home, regret, relationships and nostalgia.
These themes have led listeners to connect different parts of the song with various periods of Swift’s personal life.
However, there has been no confirmation from Swift about who, if anyone, inspired the track.
Fans Connect the Song to Joe Alwyn
One of the main names mentioned in fan discussions is Joe Alwyn.
Swift and Alwyn began dating in 2016 and maintained a notably private relationship for several years before their split in 2023.
Because of the timeline and the song’s themes of relationships and nostalgia, some fans believe “Babylon” could reference their relationship.
These connections remain fan theories, and Swift has not publicly identified Alwyn as the inspiration behind the song.
Tom Hiddleston Also Becomes Part of the Discussion
Another name appearing in online speculation is Tom Hiddleston.
Swift and Hiddleston briefly dated in 2016 before her relationship with Alwyn.
Their short-lived romance has also led some fans to look for possible connections between the song’s lyrics and that period of Swift’s life.
Again, there is no confirmation that “Babylon” was written about Hiddleston.
Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas Mentioned in Fan Theories
Some Swifties have also connected the song to Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas.
The speculation appears to be linked in part to Swift’s friendship with Turner, rather than any confirmed connection between the song and the former couple.
As fans continue to analyze the lyrics, multiple interpretations have emerged online.
What Is ‘Babylon’ Really About?
At this point, the meaning behind “Babylon” remains open to interpretation.
Fans have linked the song to several people and moments from Swift’s past, but none of these theories have been confirmed by the singer.
For now, the speculation surrounding Joe Alwyn, Tom Hiddleston, Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas remains part of the online conversation around Swift’s latest release.
