New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani confirms Taylor Swift covered the security and permit expenses linked to her private wedding celebrations with Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden.
The controversy surrounding Taylor Swift’s wedding security arrangements has come to an end after New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani confirmed that the singer had already paid the required city fees.
The issue gained attention after reports surfaced about the extensive security measures and traffic management plans put in place for Swift’s private wedding celebrations with NFL star Travis Kelce.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, July 10, Mamdani addressed questions about whether Swift would be responsible for covering police overtime costs connected to the high-profile event.
The mayor confirmed that the 14-time Grammy-winning artist had paid more than $160,000 for the permit associated with the wedding arrangements.
“Taylor Swift will be paying, has paid already the cost of the permit that was lodged, which was over $160,000 for that event and for the response to that event,” Mamdani said.
The measures were reportedly active from the rehearsal dinner on July 2 until July 4, ensuring privacy and safety for the couple and their guests.
