Shakti Shalini Release Date Reportedly Shifted
Aneet Padda’s upcoming horror comedy Shakti Shalini may arrive in theatres in early 2027 instead of its previously planned Christmas 2026 release.
According to a report by Mid-Day, the makers are considering March 2027 to give the film a separate theatrical window amid the release plans for Shah Rukh Khan’s King. However, an official release date has yet to be announced.

Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, the project is set to introduce a new character to the production house’s popular horror-comedy universe.
Nana Patekar’s Final Screen Appearance
The film carries added significance following the reported death of veteran actor Nana Patekar on October 8, 2026. According to Sarpotdar, Patekar completed his shooting for the project in May.
Speaking to PTI, the director expressed sadness that the film would be the actor’s final screen appearance.
“I never expected that ‘Shakti Shalini’ will be his last film. I’m deeply saddened that this will be his last work,” Sarpotdar said, describing the project as a tribute to the late actor.
Nana Patekar Was Keen to Watch the Film
Sarpotdar recalled that Patekar had contacted him around 10 days before his death to ask about the film’s post-production. The actor was eager to know how the project was progressing and had looked forward to seeing the finished version.
The director said Patekar agreed to join the film after hearing the story at his farmhouse in Pune. The actor reportedly liked the story, his character, Aneet Padda’s role and the world created for the film.
The cast also includes Vishal Jethwa, Vineet Kumar Singh and Seema Biswas. While Shakti Shalini was initially announced for Christmas 2026, its revised release date remains unconfirmed.
