Samantha Ruth Prabhu has spoken openly about her pregnancy with husband Raj Nidimoru.
The 39-year-old actress said the news came as a surprise because both she and Raj had already accepted that they might or might not have children.
Speaking about the experience, Samantha said she had reached a peaceful stage in her life.
She explained that both she and Raj were comfortable with either outcome. That made the pregnancy news even more unexpected for them.
Samantha also revealed that she discovered she was pregnant while working on the song Thassadiya.
She had only just learned the news before arriving on set for the shoot.
The actress said she was already experiencing mild sickness at the time. Despite that, she continued filming and completed the required dance sequences.
Samantha added that she now feels excited about becoming a mother.
She said people often tell her that having a child changes life completely. The actress believes she is ready to embrace that change.
Her film Maa Inti Bangaaram arrived in June. Reports say she announced her pregnancy shortly after the release.
Director Nandini Reddy also spoke about filming during that period.
Reddy said the production team had already completed most of the demanding action scenes before Samantha discovered her pregnancy.
The director added that the crew took extra care during the remaining outdoor work.
They avoided harsh sunlight when possible and gave Samantha enough breaks to stay comfortable.
Samantha and Raj were first romantically linked in 2024 while working on Citadel: Honey Bunny.
The couple later made their relationship official with a ceremony at the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore in December 2025.
For Samantha, the pregnancy marks a major new chapter after a period of personal and professional change.
