Ryan Reynolds has admitted that his famous charm does not work on his own children.

The 49-year-old actor is currently promoting his upcoming film Mayday. He stars alongside Kenneth Branagh and Maria Bakalova.

During a promotional interview with Entertainment Tonight, Reynolds faced a question about his real-life charm.

The host asked him where his ability to talk his way out of situations does not work.

Reynolds quickly named his four children.

“Oh my kids. No chance. Like no, never,” the Deadpool star said.

The actor explained that his children understand what he is trying to do. However, they refuse to play along.

“They understand what I’m doing but reject it wholesale,” Reynolds said.

He joked that their reaction is both ineffective for him and “terrible” for his self-esteem.

Reynolds also revealed the simple response he often gets from his children.

“They’re like, ‘ugh,’” he said.

The actor shares four children with his wife, Blake Lively. Their daughters are James, Inez and Betty, while their youngest child is Olin.

Despite his children’s lack of interest in his famous humour, Reynolds appeared to take the situation in good spirits.

His comments offer a funny look at family life behind his Hollywood career. The actor may have millions of fans, but his children remain much harder to impress.

Meanwhile, Reynolds is preparing for the release of Mayday. The action thriller will debut on Apple TV on September 4.

With Reynolds leading the cast, the film marks his latest major project after a string of popular Hollywood releases.
