Robert Pattinson has revealed why he enjoys playing villainous characters more than traditional hero roles, saying that unexpected roles allow him to surprise audiences.
During an interview with People Magazine at the premiere of Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film The Odyssey, the actor discussed his growing interest in portraying antagonists.
When asked about playing villains, Pattinson said he enjoys exploring such characters because they help him challenge audience expectations.

In The Odyssey, Pattinson plays Antinous, one of Penelope’s suitors who attempts to claim her hand while Odysseus is believed to be lost after the Trojan War.
However, Pattinson offered a different perspective on his character, saying he does not see Antinous as a simple villain.
“I don’t think he’s really the bad guy,” he said, describing the story as a complicated love story.

Pattinson also revealed that he often creates small personal traits or habits to help develop his characters while working on different films.
