Riteish And Genelia Deshmukh Support NEET Protest Movement
Bollywood stars Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh have shown solidarity with NEET protesters in Delhi, joining other celebrities calling for youth voices to be heard and education reforms to be addressed.
Actor couple Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh have joined a growing list of Bollywood personalities supporting the NEET protest movement in Delhi.
The couple shared a message on social media expressing support for young protesters and emphasizing the importance of listening to students’ concerns.
Riteish wrote that the voices of the country’s youth deserve attention and respect, describing them as an important part of India’s democratic future.
The support came as the Cockroach Janta Party organized the “Sansad Chalo” protest during the opening of Parliament’s Monsoon Session.
The demonstration focused on demands for education reforms and accountability over alleged irregularities linked to the NEET examination process.
Tensions rose during the march as protesters and security personnel clashed while the crowd moved toward Parliament.
A delegation from the protest group later met Union Health Minister JP Nadda and submitted a memorandum outlining key demands, including action over the NEET issue and support for affected families.
Several other Bollywood figures also voiced their support for the protesters, including Bhumi Pednekar, Huma Qureshi, Nandita Das and screenwriter Sutapa Sikdar.
Veteran actress Shabana Azmi, who attended the protest, reportedly felt unwell during the gathering. Videos from the location showed volunteers and security personnel assisting her after she appeared dizzy.
The involvement of prominent film personalities has brought additional attention to the NEET protest, as calls for education reforms continue to gain public discussion.
