Raven-Symoné Defends Kelly Clarkson Amid Brooklyn Store Dispute

Raven-Symoné has voiced her support for Kelly Clarkson amid the singer’s dispute with Brooklyn store Art of Play. The actress believes Clarkson should be able to share her experience without facing criticism simply because she has a large social media following.

Raven shared her views during the October 14 episode of The View. She also reflected on her own experience with online criticism and explained why she understands Clarkson’s position.

“I think that it is unfair that just because she has that many followers she’s not allowed to express how she feels about what happened to her,” Raven said.

Raven-Symoné Relates to Kelly Clarkson’s Experience

Raven recalled facing a similar reaction after discussing an incident at the Zoolander 2 premiere in 2016. At the time, she felt that people had pushed her aside on the red carpet to make room for Kendall Jenner.

However, viewers who watched the footage challenged her account. Raven said the reaction showed how differently people can interpret the same event.

She believes Clarkson deserves the same chance to explain her side of the story.

“You don’t know my past, you don’t know what I’ve been through,” Raven said, explaining why personal experiences can shape how people respond to certain situations.

Why Kelly Clarkson Is in the Spotlight

Clarkson recently made headlines after describing her experience at Art of Play, a Brooklyn store that sells unusual toys and collectibles.

The singer had visited the shop hoping to buy an animatronic bird named Molly. According to reports, the store told her that the specific bird was not available for purchase and offered to find a similar model instead.

The item reportedly had an initial price of $15,000. Amid the online dispute, its displayed price appeared to rise to $15 million, adding further attention to the controversy.

Clarkson compared her experience to the treatment of Julia Roberts’ character in Pretty Woman. The comparison helped bring the dispute into the public spotlight.

Raven-Symoné Questions Claims About Kelly Clarkson

Raven also discussed the store’s concerns about the online reaction. Art of Play co-owner Adam Rubin reportedly said Clarkson’s viral post had put the business and its employees at risk.

However, Raven argued that Clarkson should not be held responsible for every reaction on the internet.

“Kelly put you in danger? Kelly didn’t … that’s the internet,” she said.

Raven added that she had read Clarkson’s post and did not believe the singer had encouraged anyone to attack the store.

Raven-Symoné Highlights Clarkson’s Background

During the discussion, Raven also pointed to Clarkson’s financial background. She noted that people may not understand how someone’s past experiences can influence their feelings about money and wealth.

“Kelly grew up not with a lot of money,” Raven said, suggesting that the situation could have affected the singer differently than others might expect.

Raven also questioned the assumption that a customer’s appearance or public profile reveals what they can afford.

Her comments highlighted a wider issue surrounding public disputes: people often form opinions before understanding another person’s experiences. As the Art of Play controversy continues to draw attention, Raven’s defence has added another voice to the debate.
