Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao recalled his personal experience of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks while attending the trailer launch of his upcoming film Prahaar: The Untold Story Of Ujjwal Nikam at Mumbai’s CSMT station.
Rajkummar said he had recently moved to Mumbai from Pune after completing film school and was struggling to find work when the tragic attacks took place in 2008.
The actor shared that he was living with two friends during that period. After news of the attacks spread, they spent several days watching television coverage and following updates from their home.
Rajkummar described those days as extremely frightening, saying the uncertainty and continuous reports from Mumbai created an atmosphere of fear across the city.
He also remembered praying for the safety of police officers and security personnel who were handling the situation on the ground.
The actor said the capture of Ajmal Kasab later brought a sense of relief after days of tension and uncertainty.

The movie focuses on Nikam’s role in major criminal cases, including the prosecution of Ajmal Kasab in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack case.
Directed by Avinash Arun, the film stars Rajkummar Rao in the lead role along with Wamiqa Gabbi and Sikandar Kher. The movie is scheduled to release in cinemas on October 16, 2026.
