Rajkummar Rao Joins Pratibha Ranta for Vishkanya
Rajkummar Rao is set to explore a new genre with Pratibha Ranta in Dharma Productions’ upcoming fantasy horror film Vishkanya.
According to Bollywood Hungama, the project will combine fantasy, horror and elements of existential terror. The filmmakers have kept the storyline under wraps for now.
However, early details suggest that the movie will introduce a distinct mythological world with its own supernatural rules.
Rajkummar Rao and Pratibha Ranta Lead Vishkanya
Rajkummar Rao will share the screen with Pratibha Ranta, who gained attention with her performance in Laapataa Ladies.
The film is expected to move beyond conventional horror themes. Instead, Vishkanya will reportedly build its story around a fantastical universe filled with supernatural elements.
The exact characters played by Rao and Ranta have not yet been revealed.
Sonal Joshi to Direct the Fantasy Horror
Sonal Joshi will direct Vishkanya. She previously made her directorial debut with the 2023 film Sukhee, starring Shilpa Shetty.
The upcoming project gives Joshi an opportunity to explore a much darker and more fantastical setting.
With the plot still confidential, further details about the film’s characters and production are expected to emerge later.

Dharma Productions Expands Into Fantasy and Horror
Vishkanya adds another fantasy and horror title to Dharma Productions’ upcoming slate.
The production house has several genre-based projects lined up for theatrical release. These include the fantasy comedy Naagzilla, the Malayalam period folk thriller Odiyan: The Age of Illusion and two horror projects.
One of the upcoming horror films is also expected to feature Aditya Roy Kapur.
The addition of Vishkanya signals another move into supernatural and fantasy storytelling for the production banner.
Rajkummar Rao Returns to Horror
Rajkummar Rao already has experience with horror-comedy through Maddock Films’ Stree franchise.
His role in the popular series helped establish his presence in the genre. Vishkanya, however, appears set to take him into a different kind of supernatural world.
For Pratibha Ranta, the film marks another significant project after her breakthrough in Laapataa Ladies. The actress made her Bollywood debut in Kiran Rao’s acclaimed film.
With its unusual fantasy setting and supernatural elements, Vishkanya brings together two actors from different stages of their careers for an ambitious new project from Dharma Productions.
