It’s Not Like That has been canceled after its first season, ending the family drama series shortly after its global release.
The show followed Scott Foley as Malcolm, a widowed pastor raising three children, and Erinn Hayes as Lori, a recently divorced mother of two.
The storyline explored the challenges of single parenthood, healing after loss, and the complicated emotions that arise when longtime friends begin wondering if their bond could become something more.
The cancellation comes only months after the series premiered worldwide on Amazon Prime Video. The show first debuted through the Wonder Project’s Prime Video add-on channel before becoming available globally on the platform.
The series premiered internationally on Prime Video on May 15 after its earlier launch on January 25.

The show was among several projects developed through Prime Video’s partnership with Wonder Project, which also produced the historical drama House of David.
Despite receiving attention from viewers, the series will not return for another season. The first season finale will now serve as the ending, leaving some fans frustrated because the central relationship remained unresolved.
The decision surprised viewers as the show performed strongly on Prime Video’s charts, reaching the top 10 global series ranking and maintaining a high position on the daily US streaming chart.
