Oude Waag presented its Fall 2026 collection in Shanghai, marking a significant moment for the label. The show underscored the brand’s evolution, focusing on architectural silhouettes and a distinct, somber palette.

Designer Xing Jian explored themes of protection and structure. Outerwear featured prominently, with cocooning coats and jackets built from layered, overlapping panels. Fabrics included dense wools and technical materials, creating a sense of fortified clothing.

The color story was intentionally restrained, revolving around shades of charcoal, ink blue, and deep olive. This darkness was occasionally pierced by flashes of metallic silver, adding a subtle, futuristic tension. The overall effect was one of serious, contemplative elegance.

Silhouettes balanced volume with precision. Billowing sleeves and wide trousers were contrasted by sharply tailored shoulders and defined waistlines. This interplay highlighted the brand’s mastery of cut and form, moving beyond its earlier, more deconstructed roots.

The collection positions Oude Waag firmly within the context of modern, intellectual womenswear. It is clothing designed for impact and introspection, reflecting a matured design philosophy that values both emotion and exacting construction.
