Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s Widow Takes Legal Action Over $1.2 Million Claim

The widow of actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner has filed a lawsuit against his mother, alleging unpaid financial commitments connected to their premarital agreement and the late actor’s family trust.

Tenisha Warner has taken legal action seeking more than $1.2 million from Pamela Warner, who serves as trustee of the Warner Family Trust.

According to court documents filed in Los Angeles County on July 17, Tenisha claims she is owed a total of $1,276,042.46 under the terms of a premarital agreement signed by the couple in May 2022.

The lawsuit alleges that Malcolm-Jamal Warner agreed to maintain a $1 million life insurance policy with Tenisha listed as the sole beneficiary but failed to secure the policy.

The filing also includes additional financial claims, including an anniversary payment, a Roth IRA obligation, and unpaid compensation for Tenisha’s work as the actor’s “chief of staff.”

The widow is seeking $50,542.46 related to the anniversary agreement, $30,500 connected to retirement funds, and $195,000 in alleged unpaid salary.

Tenisha also filed a separate case in Georgia on July 20, marking one year since Warner’s death. The legal action argues that the actor’s estate may not have enough assets to cover the claimed obligations.

The lawsuit requests financial compensation, interest, legal fees, and a court order preventing the distribution of trust assets while the dispute continues.

Malcolm-Jamal Warner, best known for his role as Theo Huxtable on the classic sitcom The Cosby Show, left behind a legacy in television and entertainment.

The legal dispute between his widow and mother now moves through the courts as both sides address the financial claims surrounding the actor’s estate and family trust.
