Kriti Sanon Speaks Out on Patriarchy Amid Jamui Case Outrage

Kriti Sanon has joined the ongoing conversation around patriarchy, misogyny and women’s safety amid public outrage over the reported Jamui incident in Bihar.

The actor shared a social media post arguing that the issue should not be reduced to a battle between men and women.

Her post came as reports of the alleged harassment of two Class 10 students in Jamui continued to draw widespread attention. However, Kriti did not directly mention the case in her post.

Kriti Sanon Says It Is Not Men vs Women

Kriti reshared a post that began with the message, “Guys, it’s not Men vs Women.”

The post went on to focus on patriarchal attitudes and people who defend such views.

Kriti’s social media activity brought her into the wider discussion about gender inequality, women’s safety and the attitudes that can contribute to victim-blaming.

Her Post Focuses on Patriarchal Thinking

The message shared by Kriti described the issue as a conflict between women and those who support patriarchal and misogynistic attitudes.

It also criticised the idea of treating patriarchy as a cultural value that should not be questioned.

Kriti did not add a separate detailed statement explaining the post. Her decision to share it, however, came at a time when discussions about women’s safety were gaining attention online.

What Happened in the Jamui Case?

The discussion comes amid reports of an incident involving two Class 10 students in Jamui, Bihar.

According to police and media reports, the teenagers were allegedly stopped and harassed by a group of men on September 19 while returning from coaching classes.

A video of the incident later circulated on social media, leading to widespread outrage. Police registered a case under the POCSO Act and arrested several accused.

Main Accused Nandan Yadav Arrested

Nandan Yadav, identified as a main accused in the case, was later injured in a police encounter while authorities were trying to apprehend him.

Police said Yadav attempted to flee, after which he was shot in the leg and taken to hospital. He was subsequently taken into custody.

The investigation into the incident and the other accused remains ongoing.

Kriti Sanon Does Not Directly Name the Case

Although Kriti’s post appeared amid the public reaction to the Jamui incident, she did not explicitly say that her message was about the case.

Reports have therefore linked the timing of her post to the wider discussion rather than presenting it as a direct statement about the incident.

Her comments have nevertheless added a celebrity voice to the broader conversation around patriarchy, misogyny, accountability and women’s safety.
