Kim Kardashian Says Dancing With the Stars Left Her “Traumatized for Life”
Kim Kardashian has opened up about her difficult experience on Dancing With the Stars. The reality star revealed that she struggled with the pressure of the competition and often cried backstage during her time on the show.
Kim shared these memories during the October 15 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! She admitted that her shyness made it hard for her to enjoy the experience.
“It was so hard for me,” she said. “I was so shy to do it, I couldn’t get over myself. I couldn’t get into it ’cause I was just so shy.”
Kim Kardashian Recalls Her Difficult Time on DWTS
Kim competed in Season 7 of Dancing With the Stars in 2008. She partnered with professional dancer Mark Ballas, but their journey ended after just three weeks.
Looking back, Kim revealed how badly she wanted to leave the competition. She said she would cry in her trailer almost every night and hoped the judges would send her home.
The experience left a lasting impression on her. Kim explained that she has not returned to dancing since her appearance on the show.
“I’ve never danced again. I am traumatized,” she said. “It’s traumatized me for life.”
Kim Kardashian Struggles to Watch Her Old Performance
During the interview, host Jimmy Kimmel showed Kim a clip from her performance with Ballas. However, she quickly made it clear that watching the footage was uncomfortable for her.
“I can’t even watch it,” Kim reacted.
Her response showed that she still feels uneasy about revisiting her time on the ballroom competition, even years later.

Why Kim Kardashian Found the Competition So Hard
Kim’s comments suggest that shyness played a major role in her struggle on Dancing With the Stars. Although she was already gaining public attention, performing live in front of judges and viewers proved difficult.
Her experience also showed a different side of the media personality, who has spent years in the spotlight through reality television and business ventures.
Kim has since built a major career with her SKIMS brand and other entertainment projects. Still, her brief appearance on Dancing With the Stars remains an experience she remembers for all the wrong reasons.
