Keke Palmer has shared an honest reflection on how becoming a mother reshaped her perspective on life, identity, and self-care after welcoming her son, Leodis “Leo” Andrellton Jackson.

The 32-year-old actress and singer spoke during the 2026 Tribeca Film Festival Storyteller event in New York City on June 8, where she joined Whoopi Goldberg for a candid conversation about fame, wellness, and personal growth in the age of social media.

@rollingstone @Keke™ opens up about motherhood:
“Oh, my gosh, I could talk about him all day. My son has changed my life. He’s everything to me. And honestly, he’s really a very cool kid. He’s the funnest kid ever, and he’s so smart. Motherhood, I thought it was gonna be dope, but it’s way better than I could ever describe. It really is.” #KekePalmer #motherhood #Leo #kids #parenting ♬ original sound – Rolling Stone

Palmer welcomed her son in February 2023 with her former partner Darius Jackson. Since then, she says motherhood has deeply influenced how she connects with her body and daily life.

She explained that pregnancy and childbirth created a major shift in how she views herself physically and emotionally. “After I had my son, I started to think about everything differently,” she said, noting that reconnecting with her body became an important part of her healing process.

The Nope star added that practices like Pilates helped her stay grounded and more intentional about her physical and mental well-being. According to Palmer, this journey has allowed her to better understand herself and improve her overall daily mindset.

She also emphasized how motherhood has made her more present and focused. “Your child makes you present,” she shared, describing how being a parent requires constant awareness and responsibility.

Palmer further reflected that motherhood has pushed her to prioritize her own stability and emotional health, ensuring she can show up fully for her child.

As she continues balancing her career and personal life, Palmer’s remarks highlight a deeper transformation, one shaped by self-awareness, discipline, and the realities of raising a young child in the public eye.
