Katy Perry Opens Up on Motherhood and Raising Daughter Daisy

Pop star Katy Perry has opened up about her journey as a mother, expressing deep appreciation for the person she has become for her five-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom.

In a recent conversation with PEOPLE, the 41-year-old singer reflected on how motherhood has reshaped her outlook on life and work, especially as she balances parenting with a demanding global music career.

Perry shared that she believes children benefit most when they see their parents living authentic and fulfilled lives. She emphasized that being supported and true to oneself creates a healthy example for children to follow.

“It’s always incredible when I get to bring my daughter to work,” Perry said, noting that Daisy has accompanied her on several stops during The Lifetimes Tour, which ran from April to December 2025.

She added that she wants her daughter to grow up observing a strong, creative, and grounded role model. According to Perry, motherhood has encouraged her to embrace both vulnerability and confidence in equal measure.

“I think when mothers can be their most supported, authentic selves, that is always a good template for children to model,” she explained. “I’m just glad to model a strong, steady, intelligent, funny, weird woman for my beautiful daughter.”

Her comments come shortly after her appearance at the Tribeca Festival premiere of her concert film Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour – Live from Paris, where she participated in a post-screening Q&A session. During the event, she described Daisy as “a force” and highlighted how candid and expressive her daughter can be in everyday life.

“She tells me exactly what she thinks,” Perry said, reflecting on their close and honest bond.

Perry shares Daisy with actor Orlando Bloom. The former couple, who were previously engaged, ended their engagement in June 2025 after nearly a decade together.

Her reflections highlight a growing theme among modern artists: balancing fame with family while staying grounded in personal values. For Perry, that balance begins with being present, authentic, and a role model her daughter can look up to.
